Held at The Spotlight in Hoddesdon the recent Ambition Conference provided plenty of inspiration and marketing insights.
As part of our commitment to local business growth, our own Keith Grover chaired the organisation committee and we were glad to be a sponsor of the event and meet up with many business people on the day.
Our MC for the day was Jeremy Nicholas, the BBC TV and radio broadcaster known for his quirky ‘and finally’ sports reports. Local photographer Alison Jenkins kindly took conference photos on the day and we’d like to extend our thanks for her support. These are just a couple of highlights from the event.
Media personality and inspirational speaker, David Thomas, explained how a clear focus can enable you to achieve seemingly impossible goals in life. He knows first-hand, since he overcome adversity to become a record breaker for a feat of memory – he can recite the maths formula for Pi to 22,500 digits!
Alan Stevens chaired a quick-fire panel session with digital experts Kelly Molson of Rubber Cheese, Justine Perry of Cariad Marketing and Saija Mahon of Mahon Digital which generated plenty of practical pointers for success in the online sphere. When asked “If there was just one piece of advice we should take away, what would it be?”, Cariad’s Justine recommended that businesses should definitely take action to claim their business on Google’s My Business listing. If you’ve not heard of this before, it’s the free business listing which appears in search results when people search by business name. Once claimed, businesses can update information about their business in this listing which may be the first thing a prospective customer sees about your business online.
HB Accountants were pleased to sponsor this community event, which so many business people support by giving up their time to be involved or by attending the conference.
All proceeds from ticket sales for Ambition Conference go to charity. This year’s beneficiaries are the Tamba Bereavement Support Group and the Muscle Help Foundation who will share the £4,400 raised.
