Community
HB Accountants takes a proactive role within the local business, school, college and charity communities. Networking, charitable activities, careers advice and team-building are all part of the HB approach to supporting business and the community. Our team are involved in a variety of activities which have cemented the firm’s family feel within Hertfordshire.
As well as giving careers advice to local young people we help them by taking on apprentices. We give them the opportunity to study for the Association of Accounting Technicians (AAT) qualification, which is their first step to becoming qualified accountants. They learn from working with experienced colleagues, gain practical business skills and achieve a widely recognised qualification, all at the same time as earning a salary.
Charity
Our team is enthusiastic about supporting good causes. Teens Unite Fighting Cancer, based in Broxbourne, is our main charity currently. They bring together young people who have a cancer diagnosis through free activities and short breaks. We organise and take part in many events to raise awareness and funds. As well as a SkyDive, a team of HB runners join the Teens Unite Fighting Cancer 10k and Hoddesdon Give Your Town The Run Around races to raise funds for charity and to beat our Personal Bests! Typically, our team raises around £5,000 in a year for local Hertfordshire good causes.

Business collaboration
We believe businesses can help each other to succeed. That’s why we were part of a group who were involved in establishing the Business Improvement District for Hoddesdon. This has led to the creation of the ‘Love Hoddesdon’ initiative which we support which implements improvements for the town including the lovehoddesdon.co.uk website. We also sponsor the ‘Your Town’ initiative which includes a popular road race series.

Our Centenary
In 2021 we celebrated our centenary, 100 years providing accountancy services and business advice. Our business has grown and prospered by an excellent service and building strong, long-term relationships with our clients.
