As the new academic year unfolds in Zambia, we are delighted to share an update about our sponsored student, Getrude. Currently in her second year at Chalimbana University, Gertrude is studying Business Administration in Accounting and Finance.

We sponsor Gertrude through the African Impact Foundation, a charity that equips young people with education and skills to move out of poverty. We receive regular updates from Africa Impact and want to share some of the highlights from their latest missive.
New year, new things to learn
Getrude is thrilled to be starting a new academic year. This semester, she is diving into key subjects such as principles of economics, financial accounting, human resource management, entrepreneurship and innovation, cost and management accounting, and business environment – all essential for her future career. This year, Getrude is determined to attain more excellent grades and move forward to her third year. Each step brings her closer to her dream of a successful career in accounting and finance, and she is motivated to give her best in everything she does.
“Words alone cannot express how grateful I am for your support. You have helped me reach where I am today, and without you, I don’t know what my future would have looked like. Your kindness has motivated me to work even harder, take every opportunity to learn new skills, and one day, I hope to give back and help someone else – just as you have helped me.”
