This week, HB Accountants’ are celebrating Colin’s 60th Birthday! If ever Team HB needed an excuse to celebrate, this is it, thank you Colin!
If you don’t already know Colin, then you are in for a treat, read on. Colin is part of the fixtures and fittings here at HBHQ, having joined HB back in the 80s! He looks after annual accounts, audits, management accounts, VAT and Corporation Tax returns for a wide variety of clients.
Colin the accountant: Something you might not know about Colin
Colin is legendary for his early starts, yes he is the only man we know who starts work by 5am most days. Mornings are of course his very favourite part of the day.
A few Colin “firsts”
Colin’s first car was a Hillman Avenger and his first job was at a menswear store where he was a sales assistant. Clearly bringing his love of meanswear fashion to HB Accountants, he recalls once getting told off for wearing Jam Shoes… how times have thankfully moved on, we love your jam shoes Colin and want you to wear them again!
Colin’s Team HB Office Memories
Colin pays thanks to HB Director Keith Grover, who introduced Colin to the delights of Indian cuisine, which is now Colin’s favourite ever food, The Chandini in High Wych comes highly recommended.
Colin remembers compulsory lunchtime drinking and even getting locked INTO the office one evening… resulting in a fire brigade rescue! Morale of the story: if you are studying in the evening and thinking a cheeky game of darts is in order prior to study commencing, make sure to tell someone where you are so they don’t lock you in…
What makes Colin tick
Colin has a love of France, you will often find Colin and Vicki (our Office and Marketing Manager) conversing in their favourite language, Franglaise…When Colin is not working, you will find him spending time with his beloved family and his favourite football family, Chelsea Football Club!
