After over 35 years in Amwell Street in Hoddesdon, two week’s ago saw us packing our bags and moving to our new home in the lovely, Plumpton House, still in our wonderful Hoddesdon… and what a week (or two) it’s been!
Whilst we have a new home – and we’ll be so excited to invite you round for a bit of a celebration when we can – we’ve not left Hoddesdon or Hertforshire. Plumpton House is only a mile from our old home in the Rye Park area of Hoddesdon, right next to the New River and the beautiful River Lea. We’re still nearby – it’s just that we have a different view out of the windows!
Hoddesdon holds a very dear place in our hearts and it will always be our town. Our director, Karen Chase in an active member of the Hoddesdon BID team and Keith Grover sits on the Organisation Committee for Hoddesdon’s annual Ambition Conference. We continue to be strong supporters of the wonderful Teens Unite Fighting Cancer, plus many of the town’s charity events and we will always support the local businesses and residents.
Celebrate our local heroes
We want to celebrate our new home and what better way to do that than recognise the many, many Hoddesdon Everyday Heroes that have been helping others day-in-day-out throughout 2020.
Please get involved and nominate your local hero so we can say “thank you” on your behalf. We are going to put all the nominated Local Heroes’ names into a Christmas draw on Wednesday 16th December and our random generator will select five local heroes * who will each receive an HB Heroes’ Hamper, just in time for Christmas.
Who can be nominated as a local hero?
Your hero could be the person that offered to get your shopping whilst you were in isolation. It could be the worker in the supermarket who was always there with a smile and a friendly greeting or the teacher who encouraged your child during lockdown. From cleaning our streets to picking up the phone to check in, so many Hoddesdon people have naturally undertaken small (and big) acts of kindness that have made a huge difference to others. We want to say thank you on behalf of the whole of our community.
How do I nominate a local hero?
If you would like to nominate a local hero please email vickif@hbaccountants.co.uk with the name and contact details of your hero plus a short description about why their actions deserve recognition – we will then include your hero in the HB’s Celebrate a Local Hero draw to win a hamper – the draw will be live across our Social Media Channels on Wednesday 16th December.
Would your business like to get involved and celebrate a local hero with us?
*It would great to be able to add more Christmas Hampers to the five we have available so if you are a business who would like to join us in saying “thank you” – please get in touch. We’re keen to make this a real community act of kindness and we’d love to share this with you.
