We’re thrilled to announce that the HB Accountants Work Experience Programme has officially launched giving local students the opportunity to rotate through five different businesses over their week experiencing the workplace.

This pioneering initiative gives local students an extraordinary opportunity to rotate through five different businesses, each offering a unique, hands-on project. Over the course of the programme, participants will gain exposure to a variety of sectors and business functions – from finance and marketing to HR and operations, providing a wealth of practical, real-world experience that simply cannot be taught in the classroom.
By opening our doors to young people, we’re not only bridging the skills gap but also nurturing local talent, building confidence, and helping students make informed decisions about their futures.
We couldn’t have done this without the amazing support of our local business community. A huge thank you to the following individuals and organisations for giving their time, expertise, and energy to support the programme and inspire the next generation:

- Hoddesdon Enterprise Centre – Oxford Innovation Space: Zoe Galea and Louise Hickman
- Broxbourne Council: Ben Torreggiani
- The Payroll Lady: Joyce O’Leary
- Mole Valley Asset Management: Annemarie Otchere and Elena Berrino
- North House Dental Practice: Poonam Ramanandi
- Insight MCL: Abigayle Fisher
- Cannon Travel: Vivien Townsend & Kevin Brooks
- Nicholas James Mortgages: Sharon White
- Duffield Harrison Solicitors: Krupali Saujani and David White
- Sage Software: Jack Ryan and Tim O’Reilly
But this is just the beginning.
We’re already planning ahead for 2026 and are actively seeking more businesses across Hertfordshire to join us. Whether you’re a small enterprise or a large organisation, your involvement could help shape the future of a young person, build a pipeline of future talent, and play a direct role in strengthening our local economy.
It’s fantastic to have the support of Herts Futures and the Love Hoddesdon BID behind this initiative. Supporting local businesses that, in turn, support our local community is the way forward – and we strongly encourage every business to get involved. Together, we can help shape a stronger, more inclusive future for the next generation.
If you’d like to get involved, please reach out – we would love to hear from you.
Let’s work together to create meaningful experiences, one student at a time.
