Successful businesses build strong connections. They create robust relationships with individuals within the company, clients, stakeholders, and business contacts. When you appreciate the power of nurturing and utilising strong professional connections, your business will thank you.
It pays to remember that building relationships is more important than just making connections. Networking isn’t just about connecting on LinkedIn. It’s about creating long-lasting, mutually beneficial connections. It takes time and effort, but staying in touch and checking in regularly pays off, leading to loyalty, friendship and success.

Business Growth and the Power of Networking
Don’t take our word for it! Emma Robson, director at Stort Valley Gifting, understands the value of networking and is an advocate of nuturing professional relationships too, she has even started her own networking group, which Team HB attend.
“Networking has been key to the growth of Stort Valley Gifting, and the connections we have made through attending both regular and one-off events have been invaluable. Talking about your business to others, particularly when you start out, can be daunting, and we wanted to create something that was different to everything out there – completely free of charge, no standing up to speak, just the opportunity to chat in an informal environment with others.
Our first event attracted in excess of 65 companies and already, for the event on the 8th February 2024, we have 69 signed up. It doesn’t matter whether you are an artist or an architect, a plumber or a printer, just starting out or been established for years, everyone is welcome. You never know where a chat over a beer (from a local brewery of course) may lead.
From the feedback at the last event we know that several people worked together or forged relationships after the event, and this is exactly what networking is about. We live in an amazing area with so many incredible businesses and we should be proud to shout about what Herts and Essex have to offer “
